Free Landscape Design Programs

Bros Yard Products offers free landscaping design programs that are focused on:   choosing and separating your different natural resources; installing trees, shrubs, ground cover and mulch.

Choosing and separating your different natural resources

The first decision based on our free landscaping design programs is determining how you want your landscape to look like.  These questions will help you determine what type of natural resources you should consider for your landscaping needs.  Some questions to consider are:

  • How many hours a week do you want to work on your landscape once complete?  Each landscape design will require some post design/installation work to keep it looking professional.
  • What’s your approximate budget for new landscape design?
  • Do you like landscapes with ponds or water products (waterfalls, streams, fixtures, etc…)?
  • Do you like landscapes with few or many shrubs?
  • Do you like landscapes with few or many trees?
  • Do you prefer a more open or full designs (more or less private)?
  • Do you need a fence for any reason?   If so, do you prefer the look of wood, plastic, vinyl, steel, or aluminum?
  • What colors do you want exhibited from your landscape?
  • Do you want evening lighting to show your landscape at night?

By answering these questions, it will help you choose what natural resources you want to use in your design.  If you wish to discuss these questions further and hear our recommendations, please contact us direct at 888-901-BROS or info@brosyardproducts.com .

Once you select your natural resources, it’s important to think about what products you will use to separate those resources; such as aluminum edging, steel edging, plastic edging, paver edging, bricks and much more.  We carry a variety of quality edging products that will help you properly separate your landscaping and last a lifetime.

Installing trees, shrubs, ground cover, and mulch

From our free landscaping design programs you’ve decided what natural resources you’re going to use in your landscape design.  In addition, you need to know what tools are recommended for installing and completing the project.  Bros recommends using quality tools to get the job done.  This saves you time and money in the long run.

When installing tree’s, it’s recommended to have a tree spade (we highly recommend our “big red”, LH15SBR – see our product for details) for digging and straightening the tree in its upright position.  Also, for moving trees a ball/tree cart is required (we highly recommend our BC1600 – see product for details).  A tree cart is  like a large 2 wheel hand cart or dolly.  It provides stress of your back while moving the tree around with ease.

For installing and removing shrubs it’s recommend using a shovel with ridged edges.  This helps get cut through roots or break through clay and other hard surfaces quicker (we highly recommend using “the Jaws”, FL300 – see our products for details).

Before installing your natural resource of choice, you need to consider installing ground cover to save you time in the future.  Ground cover prevents roots and weeds from growing beneath and through your mulch, stones, or brick.  Depending on your exact landscape needs, Bro’s offer a variety of different ground covers that fit our quality standards (see landscape fabrics on our homepage).

If you’ve decided to use mulch & bark as part of your landscape, having the right tool helps you get the job done.   It’s recommended to have the following tools handy:

  • Mulching fork (We highly recommend our WDH48MF10 – see our product for detail)
  • Wheelbarrow  (We highly recommend our P6WB – see our product for detail)
  • Broom (We highly recommend our W24BBP – see our product for detail)
  • Fiberglass Bow Rake (We highly recommend our F60FBR16 – see our product for detail)

Landscape design is a process not an event.  Our main focus is to help you through the process of designing and constructing your unique landscape design.   We look forward to answering more questions about your landscaping needs.
